IDTA AWARDS & GRADES
IDTA Awards and Grades
We are proud to have been part of the IDTA for 25 years, guiding students through their dance journey. Award and exam sessions are highly enjoyable, children grow in confidence and it’s a celebration of a child’s progress, focus, and dedication.
To accommodate varying abilities and commitment levels, we maintain a high teacher-student ratio and provide individualised learning plans for every child. Readiness for awards or exams are carefully evaluated to ensure children are confident, prepared, and set up for success.
Children can choose to take the hobby route by entering for awards or if they take their dancing more seriously they can take the grades. Awards can be easily achievable during class time whilst grades have a minimum number of focused hours training per subject plus home practise. Consistency is needed to build strength and flexibility.

What is the IDTA
The International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA) is one of the world’s leading dance teaching organizations, dedicated to promoting excellence in dance education. Established with the goal of supporting both teachers and students, the IDTA sets high standards for teaching across a wide range of dance styles, including ballet, tap, modern, ballroom, and more.
For students, the IDTA provides structured syllabi that guide their progress in dance, ensuring they learn proper techniques while developing confidence, discipline, and creativity. It also offers opportunities for students to take examinations, which are recognized internationally and give a sense of achievement and progression.
For parents, choosing a school affiliated with the IDTA means peace of mind. You can be assured that your child is being taught by a qualified and experienced instructor who follows an established curriculum designed to help them grow, thrive, and enjoy their dance journey.
