Dance and Drama in English
DCA is a warm and friendly performing arts school in Budapest offering dance and drama classes in English. We offer something for all levels and ages from 1 – 99.
We have been established for over 20 years, and continue to love installing confidence into our students. Our classes are full of magic and creativity, but at the same time disciplined and professional. Every year we give our students high quality performing opportunities.
We are registered members of the International Dance Teachers Association to ensure that your child is receiving the highest standard of dance and drama.

Dance, Act & Sing with us
We have classes for children and adults of all ages and levels. In a loving atmosphere students can learn tap, street, ballet, musical theater, and so much more!
We have students who come for fun, fitness and confidence. We treat each and every one as a star, and help them reach their full potential.
Others wish to train more intensively and to take internationally recognized exams. We help these children reach their goals. We polish technique and artistry and build up their confidence
The most important thing is that we all have passion and a love to dance and that is what DCA is all about . Sharing that passion and love!
Shows, Exams and Competitions
We all love to be motivated and rewarded, so we provide many opportunities that children can sign-up for so that they can experience that good feeling. We put on many shows in a professional theatre, yearly exam/award days and the chance to attend competitions. We are an uncompetitive school, and focus on reaching ones own full potential and dancing for the love of dancing.
Parties, Camps and Specials
We all work so hard in class to be the best we can. And we work hard because we love it. But we can’t resist a party! We can host your child’s birthday party whether it be a magical themed party or a full on dance party the birthday child takes centre stage!
Every year we hold our own Halloween, Christmas, Farsang and Easter parties and special workshops
For older students we invite guest teachers , and hold special workshops so our students can experience as much as possible what the performing arts world can offer
Ever summer we hold our ‘show in a week’ camps mixed in with swimming , biking and outside fun.
Jessica has really enjoyed the private dance classes with Sandra. Sandra is enthusiastic and brings out the best in the girls. Jessica has been able to hone her skills, prepare for a more advanced exam, and gain confidence. She could not do all of that in a group class. As a mother, I think the experience of practising for an evaluation provides confidence and a good sense of discipline. My daughter dances because she loves it… Sandra’s private lessons have also let Jessica develop good skills which complement the enthusiasm.

Thank you Sandra and the rest of the DCA team. It was a pleasure watching them perform and your hard work could be seen in the children’s performance – not only to learn the choreographies but to dance with commitment and love. Nina could not stop smiling and she had the best time for what could have been a daunting experience. She loved it and was so proud of herself. I am in performance myself and am well aware of the challenges, especially working with children. For this I am so grateful.
Aldith Gauci ( Mother of Nina, age 7, who attends Combo Class)
I love that there are so many styles of dance and activities that Éva never gets bored. There is something for every age group . DCA is growing up with my daughter. She is growing and DCA is growing with her. Éva can be herself and she has gained so much confidence; her way of speaking, talking to others ,how she is presenting herself at school has improved so much. Éva is really motivated which in turn helps her development ( I don’t need to tell her 6 times to sit down and practice ……you have no idea what a battle it is with her when she needs to sit down to do school homework). The bottom line is, I just see she is happy and thriving…and as I always say, there is just one place for a child that is better than being with mom…and that is DCA 🙂
Szilvia Pozsgai (Mother of Éva, age 8, who attends Arco Dance and Drama)
Being part of DCA this year has been one of the nicest parts of my daughter’s year. The classes strike the perfect balance of being fast-paced enough to keep the children’s attention, but slow enough that they learn a lot of dances in just a matter of weeks. As a result, I have seen my daughter bloom into a little girl with increased confidence and physical coordination. DCA gives her a way to take part in the allure of pop music and dance trends in a completely age-appropriate way. I wish there were classes for adults!

What started out as a two hour Saturday morning dance program for our daughter has turned into a 7 hours performing art spectacle for both of our kids on a weekly basis. Every Saturday and Sunday our kids can’t wait for their dance and drama classes to begin.
Our kids made friends there and so did we. DCA is so much more than just an English language dance school. Their dance and theater showcases are planned and executed with so much attention to detail, followed by a cinema party where the kids can watch themselves perform.
Chris Lahl (father of two children age 7 and 9 who attend all weekend classes)
Sunny Ruoqi joined DCA in the late autumn of 2019. Her learning journey with DCA is very pleasant, inspiring, and rewarding. Among all other dancing courses like theatre dance and street dance, Sunny focuses on ballet, the more classical, comprehensive and demanding type.
AT the very beginning, she danced once a week. And later as she registered for the IDTA examination, she started to have lessons twice a week, one for learning and practice on the basis of a progressive syllabus, and the other is a special module for examination. Under systematic and insistent training with Ms. Susie and Ms. Sandra, She achieved “Distinction” in the Preparatory level exam, her first exam of IDTA at the age of 7 in the early of 2020. After that, she continued learning almost nonstop till now.
In the spring of 2020 when Hungary was facing the first wave of pandemic Covid-19, DCA offered online lessons and Sunny attended the majority of the ballet lessons, keeping the frequency of once or twice per week. The lessons offered by DCA are with good methodology to meet professional requirements of development on the one hand, and on the other, it is appealing in Ms Susie’s artistic delivering. The tempo of each lesson is not harsh and intense but effective and efficient. Sunny enjoys the free dancing part best. She also enjoys greatly all the music that Ms. Susie uses in the class.
Cathy Bo Wu (Mother of 9 year old child who attends ballet classes)
We first joined DCA when our daughter was 4. She has just turned 12 and every week she continues to enjoy dance and drama with DCA. Sandra, Susie and all the teachers provide an amazingly supportive, safe and fun environment for kids to learn and develop their skills, staying active and building confidence. Fantastic costumes and the year end shows are always a highlight for the kids. From extra parties, acrogym and summer camps I think we have tried almost everything.
Sandra is always seeking feedback and ideas for staying relevant which has been particularly important over the last 12 months with classes going online.
We have made some amazing friendships and will always have fond memories of our daughter growing up with DCA.
Maria Williams (Mother of 12 year old who attends performing arts full day)
